Today's Superstar was A Pizza-Loving Car Burglar who was caught "Marinara Handed"
A man in Florida named Dewey Smith didn't get the memo. He broke into several cars last Wednesday, and he did it while EATING A PIZZA.
If there's a handbook for criminals, one very important piece of advice would be: Don't leave anything at the scene that people could trace back to you. And definitely don't leave a trail.
A car burglar in Florida was caught last Wednesday after he left a trail of PIZZA, including marinara sauce and an empty box. When the police found him, he admitted that they caught him red-handed.
The police found MARINARA SAUCE on the handle of one vehicle. And down the street, they found an empty pizza box, which directed them to another car that had been broken into. AND a neighbor nearby told police that she saw a man that night who had a plastic bag filled with credit cards. He also stole the remnants of a Little Caesar's pizza that she'd tossed. It's unclear if that was the first pizza or a SECOND one.
The authorities followed the trail and found Dewey. He still had the bag of credit cards, but it sounds like he was done eating pizza. He told deputies, "You got me red-handed." He was probably talking about the cards, but the local news suggested that he may have also been caught MARINARA handed.
