Do you ever wonder what happens to leftovers at any restaurant?
A new app that is popular in Europe is now entering the U.S which will allow customers to purchase the leftovers from local restaurants to combat food waste.
The way the app works is you see a list of participating restaurants and you purchase leftover food that they would usually throw out.
The catch is IT'S A SURPRISE! Restaurants package up the leftovers and put up the surpirse packs for sale on the app with a designated pick up time for when they close
Each year, more than one third of food produced in the world goes to waste, and it is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions. We are on a mission to change that - are you with us ?
The business has been operating in European cities for a while and has recently started expanding to cities around the U.S. As of publication, Too Good To Go was operating in Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, the D.C. area, New York, parts of New Jersey, the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Portland, Philadelphia, Providence, Seattle, and a few more parts of the country. The company says on its website it plans to expand more in the coming months, but doesn’t specify where or when.
