A Crypto Nut Turned $8,000 into $6 Billion, but Lost Their Password

Here is 6 Billion reasons to always write down your passwords.

Last year, someone bought $8,000 worth of a jokey cryptocurrency called Shiba Inu that skyrocketed this week. But they might have lost their password, because they haven't sold any, and NO ONE would let this amount of money ride. At its peak on Wednesday, their $8,000 investment was worth about $6 BILLION.

The cryptocurrency called Shiba Inu tripled in value this week. And some unknown person COULD have cashed in for an insane amount of money. It's a crypto no one really takes seriously, because it's a parody of Dogecoin. But it's super-cheap, so some see it as a chance to recreate the whole Doge explosion that happened this year. One Shiba Inu coin is currently worth less than one-10,000th of a cent, but that's a lot more than it was worth a few months ago.

Last summer, it was worth even less. And someone just noticed a crypto wallet online that belongs to some nutjob who bought a crazy amount of it last August.

You can see the activity of any crypto wallet online, but there's no way to tell who it belongs to. Last August, they bought $8,000 worth of Shiba Inu and at its peak this week, it was worth about $6 BILLION. That's billion with a "B."

Whoever it belongs to didn't cash in. So people think they might have forgotten about it, lost their password, or died. (There's also a chance it belongs to someone linked to the programmers who developed the coin. It could even be one of them.)

Whatever the case may be, they haven't sold yet, it was still worth over $4 billion.
