Someone started a petition to change the name of Lee County, Florida to BRUCE LEE County, Florida. Lee County is home to Fort Myers.
Lee County is named after confederate general Robert E. Lee, who fought against the United States government for the South's right to keep owning slaves.
The petition says the name change would, quote, "continue the battle to eradicate racism in the United States."
It also noted that Bruce, quote, "bridged the gap between East and West," and helped to "change the way Asians were presented in American films."
