Led Zeppelin the Frog

Researchers have discovered a new species of frog, so why not name it after Led Zeppelin. The new species was found in the mountains of the Ecuadorian Andes.

Pristimantis ledzeppelin, known in English as Led Zeppelin’s Rain Frog, was found in the Cordillera del Cóndor, which straddles south-east Ecuadorand north-east Peru.

“The name honors Led Zeppelin and their extraordinary music,” said the researchers who discovered the new species. “Led Zeppelin was a British rock band formed in London in 1968, one of the most influential bands throughout the 1970s, and progenitors of both hard rock and heavy metal.”

History books for the next generation are going to be so funny.

It even caught the attention of Robert Plant
