Independent testing lab, Valisure, is reporting it’s detected a known human carcinogen, benzene, in 78 sunscreen products.
The company recently tested nearly 300 sunscreen products and found 27 percent contained benzene, and five percent contained benzene at higher levels than two parts per million, which is the FDA’s recommended.
Valisure has petitioned the FDA to recall the 78 products and to conduct its own investigation into the manufacturing of these products.
The affected products can be seen here. Some popular brands are on the lists, with products from Neutrogena, CVS, Walgreens and Banana Boat : https://bit.ly/3hZu0M4
