Legendary Rapper With Tampa Roots, Shock G, AKA Humpty Hump, Has Died at 56

Fellow Tampan/ Tampeño/ Tampanian Shock G (Real name Gregory Jacobs), famous for Digital Underground's hit song "The Humpty Dance," has passed away at 56.

The rap legend was found dead Thursday in a hotel room in Tampa. We're told the cause of death is unclear but there were no signs of trauma. He attended and eventually dropped out of Chamberlain High School in the early 1980s to begin his music career.

In addition to his own accolades, Shock was also known for his collaborations with Dr. Dre and 2Pac. Pac was a member of Digital Underground when he appeared on the group's 1991 song and music video, "Same Song."
Shock is featured on Pac's 1993 song "I Get Around" and he was one of the producers on Tupac's 1991 debut solo album, "2Pacalypse Now."
