You know how it's kinda hard to concentrate on work on your birthday? That's true at every job. EVERY job.
Researchers at UCLA studied almost one million surgeries between 2011 and 2014. And they found that people who had surgery on the SURGEON'S BIRTHDAY had a 23% higher chance of DYING on the table.
Why? The researchers aren't sure, but they do think it could be that surgeons are a little more distracted on their birthdays, just like the rest of us.
