The Best Music to Relax to on National Relaxation Day

It's National Relaxation Day, so Crash, AJ, and Ryan are sharing a few songs to relax with. Listening to music relaxes you by slowing down your heart rate, lowering your blood pressure, and blocking stress hormones. Studies have found that classical music works best. But ANY type of music you enjoy also works.

Here are some of our favorites:

CRASH

“You’ve probably never heard 2 out of 3 of these songs, but I encourage you try all three”

The first entry on Crash's list of songs to relax to is No Bummer Summer Band, Live. You can bet he'll be vibing to this one at their MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre show.

This is one of Crash's more obscure relaxation songs, but U2 is his favorite band. He had to get one of their songs on the list.

This is probably the most obvious relaxation song on the list, but it's pretty hard to listen to this one and feel stressed.

AJ

"I'm trying to think of songs on my mellow mix. I had a hard time with this, because a song I want relax to when I'm mad is different than a song I want to relax to when I'm stressed."

AJ is also kicking off her list with a song from a No Bummer Summer Band. This time, it's 311 - Amber. Crank this one and get lost in a world you'd wish you could stay in.

Every line of this song could be a tattoo. Listen to this Goo Goo Dolls song to ease the tension in your life.

Or if you need to cry.

Dave Matthews is one of AJ's all-time favorites. This is an up-beat, happy, uptempo song to unwind with.

RYAN

"I'd call these picks eclectic. These are nice songs to really focus on. They'll totally transport you away from any stressors"

Kicking off Ryan's list is a song from Rocktober Breast headliner, Coheed and Cambria. This song answers the question, can a song include the lyric I'd kill anyone for you, and still be relaxing?

The answer - Absolutely.

Smooth. Sexy. Passion Pit. This song is a good song to relax to, but it's also a great option for knockin' boots.

One of the greatest live shows you'll ever see, this Flaming Lips song melts away all the problems in the world.
