Cleveland Convivence Store Shooting Suspect Arrested by US Marshal

Cleveland, Ohio– Last night, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) located and arrested Charlie Wright, 44. Wright was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder and felonious assault.

On October 26, Wright and another male got into a verbal altercation inside a convenience store near the 1100 block of E. 123rd Street in Cleveland. At some point during the verbal altercation, Wright exited the store and came back minutes later, brandishing a firearm and attempting to shoot the 30-year-old male he was arguing with. Wright shot the 30-year-old male in the leg but also shot and killed a 60-year-old male worker that was stocking the coolers and shot a 40-year-old woman in the chest. The 40-year-old woman and 30-year-old male were taken to the hospital, and their conditions are unknown. This incident happened in broad daylight with approximately nine customers and three employees inside the store.

Last evening, members of the Cleveland NOVFTF arrested Wright inside a vehicle near the intersection of Parkwood Drive and Pasadena Ave in Cleveland.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “This senseless act of violence resulted in the death of a hardworking, good man. The efforts of our task force last night brought these victims’ families one step closer to the justice they deserve.”
