Self-driving delivery vans are popping up all over Chinese cities, but no one could say itâs going smoothly. Videos of their wild rides have gone viral on social media, with the clips showing the small autonomous vehicles bouncing down rough roads, getting stuck in wet cement, and even rolling over vegetables that a woman had left out to dry. One popular video shows a Neolix X3 van shaking wildly as it drives over a gravel path full of potholes.Â
Another shows a robovan confused by corn cobs scattered on the road. China has rolled out thousands of these driverless delivery vans in recent years; Neolix alone says it has more than 10,000 robovans in 300 cities. While the videos are funny to watch, they also show that the technology still has some problems to work out on real roads.Â
