You might want to take a long look at what you're feeding your dog - the FDA is warning pet owners of a possible link between certain types of dog food and the canine heart disease known as DCM.
The FDA studied more than 500 cases of DCM in dogs and found that most of them were fed dry food billed as "grain-free" and containing peas or lentils. Some of the brands identified include Acana, Zignature, Taste Of The Wild, and 4Health.
DCM is most commonly found in golden retrievers, Labrador retrievers, and mixed breeds. The FDA is still investigating the connection between diet and heart disease.
