Singer Ed Kowalczyk tells Loudwire.com, "'Hold Me Up' was recorded during the "Throwing Copper" sessions but not included on the album due to the time limitations of the compact disc. In my view, the song is as good as any on the record, so it's really exciting to finally get it out to our fans after all these years! It's like opening a time capsule we buried in the yard back in 1993 and finding a totally kick-ass song in it!"
