Sometimes a swear word just needs to be said. But, for those of you who are looking for an alternative to dropping the big ones, here are some tips to try.
1. Act like Grandma is in the room (unless your Grandma swears worse than you . If you trick your brain into thinking someone in the room may be offended by the foul language, it's more likely to stop. If you slip up, ask yourself what you could've said differently.
2. Ask someone to call you out. Whether they clear their throat, clap, or say, "Hey! You did it again!" find someone who can help break your habit by holding you accountable.
3. Dig around for alternative words. You can get into some throwback zingers like, "Great horn spoon!" or just make up your own phrases to release whatever you need to get out inside of you.
4. Finally, pay up for it. That's right. Glass jar. Dollar bills. You know the rest.
Or there's always this guy.....
