REPORT: Irish Head Coach Brian Kelly A Coach Of Interest For Buccaneers

According to a report by David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune and 670AM The Score in Chicago, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are rumored to be targeting Notre Dame Head Coach Brian Kelly in their coaching search to replace recently fired Dirk Koetter.

In a statement released about the firing, Buccaneers owner/co-chairman Joel Glazer said the search will be conducted by general manager Jason Licht. The firm has experience assisting coaching searches with the Texans, Falcons, Chiefs, Seahawks and Jaguars. Kelly’s name surfaced in the past 48 hours after the search firm became more involved in the process.


Kelly, 57, is 81-31 in nine seasons at Notre Dame and has not coached in the NFL at any point in his career.
