The Palm Beach County School Board is expected to vote on an interim-police chief for schools during Wednesday's meeting.

Chief Dan Alexander on Friday announced his resignation and school district leaders have chosen Assistant Police Chief Patrick McCutcheon to serve on an interim basis, while they conduct a nationwide search.

Alexander was the second schools police chief to step down in nine months time.

Superintendent Michael Burke is expected to be at the meeting in-person after recovering from a mild case of COVID-19.
