Survey: Florida 8th Freest State on COVID Rules

WASHINGTON -- A survey by personal finance site Wallethub says Florida has the eighth least restrictive coronavirus rules of the 50 states and D.C.

The survey gives double weight on the requirement to wear a face mask in public. There has never been a state mask mandate and Governor Ron DeSantis signed an order wiping out fines on individuals who violate local mask rules.

Florida ranks first (least restrictive) in several categories including requirement to wear a mask, workplace temperature screening, customer health checks at restaurants, travel restrictions, restrictions of large gatherings, and reopening of restaurants and bars.

Iowa ranks as the state with the least coronavirus restrictions, according to Wallethub.
