Man Accused of Plotting to Attack Trump Supporters at Florida Capitol

TALLAHASSEE -- Federal prosecutors have charged a former Army Airborne soldier with threatening to attack supporters of President Trump during a potential protest Sunday at the Florida Capitol.

Documents unsealed in federal court say 33-year-old Daniel Alan Baker had created a Facebook page earlier this week for an "event" in which his supporters would allow Trump supporters to enter the Capitol and battle police, then surround them and "drive them out of Tallahassee."

Prior to that, prosecutors say Baker had posted in October that he "hoped the right tries a coup Nov. 3 because" he was

"so **** down to slay enemies again."

Prosecutors say Baker had joined the CHOP/CHAZ movement that took over a portion of downtown Seattle in the summer of 2020 and described himself as a "hardcore leftist". Before that, they say Baker had been fighting as a mercenary for the YPG, a Syrian organization fighting ISIS and the Turkish government, which has been identified as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States government.

Among the posts Baker made on Facebook was one asking people to " Buy guns and join us in November. We are voting from the rooftops." Baker also posted two days after the US Capitol that he had acquired a sponsor, saying "(Soros, you know, the antifa card was finally approved)."

Baker is accused of transmitting a threat of kidnapping.
