Gov. DeSantis Changes Rules For Long-Term Care Visitation

Some changes are in store to make it easier to visit loved ones in nursing homes.

In Fort Myers yesterday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced an update to the state's visitation policy for long-term care facilities.

The changes include removing the prohibition on children visitation, easing restrictions on outdoor visitation, clarifying that there are no social distancing requirements for compassionate caregivers, and eliminating the five-person maximum number of general visitors.

DeSantis tweeted these updates will provide residents in long-term care facilities with greater opportunities to safely visit loved ones.
