State Denied Request To Dismiss School Reopening Lawsuit

The state of Florida is denied its request to dismiss the Florida Education Association's lawsuit against the emergency order requiring schools to reopen this month. Leon County Judge Charles Dodson says he's hoping the two sides can work something out during mediation next week. The teachers union claims the order violates the state constitution, guaranteeing the right to a safe and secure public education. The state says the mandate doesn't order students or teachers to return if they don't want to, it gives them the choice.
