Lakeland Reopen Task Force Uses Swans to Sway Shoppers after COVID-19

LAKELAND -- Color-coded "swans" are the way one Florida city is trying to get people to start shopping again after pandemic lockdowns.

Lakeland mayor Bill Mutz says businesses will use the city's mascot to tell consumers about COVID-19 precautions in particular location. Green swans mean primary precautions... blue stands for increased precautions... magenta means comprehensive precautions.

The city's Reopen Lakeland Task Force came up with the guidelines as a way to allow people to make choices based on their own health and safety concerns.
