The NFL Wants to Change How Punts Work, & They're Looking for Ideas

The NFL would like to change how punts work, and it could happen as early as next season. The hang-up: uncertainty about WHAT to do.

The issue is safety.

Before this season, concussions were five times more likely to occur on kickoffs than the average run or pass play, making it the most dangerous play in the game.  Punts are next on that list, causing twice as many concussions as the average play.

In addition to making punts safer, they'd like to reduce the penalties, since it's the most penalized play in football.

Sooooooo....... do you have a worthy idea for the NFL? It could be what they need. They're currently crowdsourcing ideas by making data available to various analytics firms.
