In the spring of 1984, Metallica were at a recording at a studio in Denmark.  It was the same studio that Rainbow had recorded “Difficult to Cure” in.  It was also not very expensive and the band was poor.  They had kicked out guitarist Dave Mustaine just under 12 months previously.  Metallica was ready to make THEIR “Kill 'Em All” record.
