KISS  was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  The band has been  eligible for induction since 1999.  Their exclusion from the Hall is a sore  subject for the band.  In 2012 Gene Simmons told Rolling  Stone, "It's become a joke.  We've been thinking about it and the answer is simply, 'We'll just buy it and fire everybody.'"

For the second straight year, a fan vote will be included in the  ballots.  Fans  can vote at RollingStone.com. Don't miss your chance t sound off on your favorite!

Other nominees include  Deep Purple, Hall & Oates, Nirvana, the Paul Butterfield Band, Chic, Peter  Gabriel, LL Cool J, N.W.A., Link Wray, the Meters, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens,  Yes, and the Zombies.
