TAMPA, FL (via Tampa Bay Lightning Communications) –Tampa Bay Lightning employees are partnering with the University of South Florida’s Sport & Entertainment Management MBA program, Majestic and Little Caesars to participate in a day of service for the Fair Oak Rattlers at Mort Park on Thursday, August 21 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“Little Caesars is proud to be a community sponsor with the Tampa Bay Lightning,” Mark Prucnell, President of the Little Caesars Tampa Bay Co-op. “We take pride in helping the Tampa Bay area becoming a cleaner and safer place for residents to live and play.”
Volunteers will be cleaning, raking and repairing various sections of Mort Park (1815 E 148th Way, Lutz, FL), as well as field repair and maintenance. Little Caesars will be donating lunch to all 100+ volunteers in attendance. The improvements to the park will benefit the Fair Oak Rattlers youth football team and cheerleading organization. The Rattlers are a long-standing community organization in East Tampa and have been part of the Mid Florida Football League, playing their home games at Mort Park.
The Lightning are committed to leading by example and inspiring others to give in all sorts of ways. They contributed through the Community Heroes program, as well as the C.H.A.R.G.E. volunteer program, more than $2 million in cash awards and more than 5,000 volunteer hours, respectively, during the 2013-14 season. In addition to continuing the Community Hero and C.H.A.R.G.E. programs for the upcoming 2014-15 season, the Lightning will also be continuing with their 3rd Annual Open Call to Artists exhibition, a celebration of Tampa Bay’s art community by displaying art around the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
