Bishop Will "Absolutely" Be Ready for Next Season

Posted June 7th, 2014 @ 10:59am

The reason the Lightning's playoff outlook took a serious dip, apparently won't be an issue for its next season's hope.

Goaltender Ben Bishop declared he will "absolutely" be ready for duty when the 2014-15 season begins.

"We'll be ready to go," Bishop told Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times on Wednesday.

Bishop is rehabbing from right wrist surgery and is still not completely recovered from a dislocated elbow.

He is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, given to the league's top goaltender. The NHL Awards are June 24 in Las Vegas.

Smith's story, which includes how excited Bishop is to see his Saint Louis Cardinals play the Rays at the Trop next week, head HERE.

The elbow injury was suffered late in the regular season, causing Bishop to miss the playoffs where the Lightning were swept by Montreal in the first round. The wrist injury was something Bishop had been playing through.
