The live feed got me.
As I was scrolling through the Facebook posts from my friends, family and the occasional sponsor, I noticed a live shot from a barn stall. Like many thousands of others, I was intrigued.
Turns out, April is a giraffe who's been pregnant for quite a while now. The video feed was supposed to show her having her calf at any moment. Well, that was over a week ago.
Since then, hilarious comments and videos have ensued. Just Google April the giraffe for a full representation of the comedic retorts.
There's even a pregnant woman wearing a giraffe mask on her head in a live feed.
I think it's great. After all of the negativity of late, we surely needed a diversion.
April, we wish you and your soon-to-be calf all the best. Thank you for clearing our heads for a week or so.
