Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill says it made perfect sense to take part in the soundtrack to the upcoming film August: Osage County.
He tells "Rolling Stone" that a movie about a dysfunctional family from Oklahoma was something he and his bandmates could easily relate to, explaining that the Followills are quite familiar with the fact that the "dynamic between family" is something to look forward to and dread all at the same time.
Caleb says it was important for them to create a song to compliment such a beautiful film. The result - an acoustic take on the "Mechanical Bull" bonus track "Last Mile Home" - is streaming now at RollingStone.com.
It will get an official release with the August: Osage County soundtrack on January 7th. The film itself - which stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts - is due out January 10th.
