Heavy metal music, it seems, really can make you happy.

According to "The Atlantic," a new study from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has reached a conclusion that millions of metal fans already knew - listening to perceived angry music can make people feel more calm and happier.

Researchers explain that the aggressive music helps listeners address their emotions constructively.

Bill Kelliher, guitarist for the heavy metal act Mastodon, tells "The Atlantic" he knows exactly what they're talking about.  He says watching someone "just shredding" one of his favorite guitar riffs always gives him "an overwhelming sense of happiness."
